Graham Rahal to Feature Bobby Rahal Tribute Helmet at Mid-Ohio

August 6, 2009 - - Graham Rahal, along with ArtRotondo.com, has unveiled the latest special-edition helmet for the 2009 race season - - a design that features a full tribute to Graham’s father, Bobby Rahal. The helmet will be worn by Graham in this weekend’s IndyCar Series race at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. Mid-Ohio serves as Graham’s home race on the IndyCar Series schedule as the 20-year driver hails from nearby New Albany, Ohio. The track holds many fond memories for the entire Rahal family, thus making it a fitting stop on the schedule to feature the helmet.

“The base design for all my helmets is a modern interpretation of Dad’s long-standing design,” said Rahal. “I thought it would be pretty neat, though, to run a race with a helmet painted identically to Dad’s. Without question, the best place to run the helmet is Mid-Ohio, so I will be wearing it this weekend. Hopefully it is something that will bring back some great memories for the passionate Mid-Ohio fans.”

“When Graham came to us with the idea for the Bobby tribute helmet, we loved it right away,” said ArtRotondo.com President, Mauro Rotondo. “We painted the helmet exactly the same as Bobby’s – from the original colors right down to the lettering fonts. We have done some really cool and special helmets this year with Graham, but this one connects a father and his son. It is really neat for Bobby and Graham, but it is also cool for the fans of the Rahal family who have a great connection with the State of Ohio.”

This weekend’s IndyCar Series race can be seen live, Sunday, August 9th at 1:00 pm ET on Versus.
