NTT INDYCAR SERIES driver Graham Rahal and former NHRA Funny Car driver Courtney Force hosted their foundation's annual Drivers Tournament powered by United Rentals today, and despite the circumstances presented by COVID-19, raised a record-high amount of over $330,000. Net proceeds from the event benefit Turns For Troops / SoldierStrong and Colorado State University's One Cure.
With cooperative weather, the event turned out beautifully, held at Indianapolis Motor Speedway's Brickyard Crossing. The holes played within the track is the closest fans of the Indianapolis 500 will get to being inside the track the week of the greatest spectacle in racing. With the luncheon hosted at the Dallara Factory in Speedway, Indiana, the ties of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES continued to be incorporated throughout the annual event.
The Graham & Courtney Rahal Foundation collected donations from local and national businesses, fellow drivers and athletes and sports organizations for the annual auction, this year held online and open to the public. The auction raised over $40,000 for the event.
Planning has already begun for 2020's edition of the Drivers Tournament powered by United Rentals to be held on its traditional Thursday before the Indianapolis 500, May 27, 2021 at the Country Club of Indianapolis. Parties interested in participating in the function can reach out to Britni Allen at ba@grahamrahal.com for more information.
