Graham & Courtney Rahal Foundation's (GCRF) annual Drivers Tournament powered by United Rentals will now be played Thursday, August 20, 2020. The change of date mimics the recently announced movement of the Indianapolis 500 to August 23, due to ongoing concerns and social guidelines surrounding COVID-19. The Drivers Tournament is traditionally held the Thursday prior to the Greatest Spectacle in Racing.
In addition to the change in date, the Drivers Tournament will also see a shift in venue as the annual fundraiser will now return to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway's Brickyard Crossing.
Benefitting United Rental's Turns For Troops program in conjunction with SoldierStrong USA, and Colorado State University's One Cure, the event will remain in similar format to that of years past. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. ET, with a shot gun start at 9 a.m. Participants will then be invited to Rahal Letterman Lanigan's hospitality space inside Indianapolis Motor Speedway to enjoy lunch and receive awards from hosts Graham Rahal and Courtney Force.
"We are carefully taking all the precautionary and proactive measures we can to be sure our fundraising efforts for Turns For Troops and CSU's One Cure continue to exceed the success of years past," said Rahal. "It was the best decision for the health and safety of our golfers, and all involved with the Drivers Tournament, to follow the Indianapolis 500 to August. We're happy to continue this marquee event on our foundation's calendar and look forward to generating donations from all over the country and continue its success this year."
Foursomes for the 2020 edition of GCRF's Driver's Tournament are available and donations for the silent and online auctions will be accepted through the start of the event. To participate, provide support or donate to the auction, please reach out to Brooke Shuman at brooke@gcrfoundation.org.
